JONATHAN wins in Pittsburgh - written on 19.10.2016

We are happy to announce that JONATHAN won its third award in the US: After winning the "First Feature Award" at the Frameline Festival in San Francisco as well as the "Dramatic Audience Award" at the Damn These Heels Festival in Salt Lake City, Piotr J. Lewandowski's film now received another audience award, the "Best Men’s Feature" at Reel Q - Pittsburgh LGBT Film Festival. We congratulate Piotr and his team!

Furthermore JONATHAN continues to travel the world:
At the end of last week, the film had its Asian premiere at the Philippine Qcinema International Film Festival, taking place until October 22.

Starting yesterday, JONATHAN is part of the REGIOFUN International Festival of Film Producers’ Feature Film Competition. The festival that takes places in Polish Katowice showcases the most interesting films from the whole world that were made with the support of regional film funds.

In November, JONATHAN will revisit London at the GFEST - Gaywise FESTival London, an annual event not only featuring movies but art exhibitions and performanes as well.


JONATHAN: Hessen Film Prize & Premieres - written on 30.09.2016

The German theatrical release of Piotr J. Lewandowski‘s JONATHAN on 6th October is fast approaching, accompanied by some great news:

JONATHAN, alongside films by Dani Levy and Gordian Maugg, is nominated for „Best Feature Film“ at this year’s Hessen Film Prize. The ceremony is scheduled for 21st October 2016.
Piotr J. Lewandowski is also nominated for the director award „MFG-Star“, awarded during the Baden-Baden Festival of TV Films (21st to 25th November 2016).

JONATHAN: Festivals in Denmark & Belgium - written on 26.09.2016

Two weeks after a sold–out screening in Australia at the Perth International Queer Film Festival, further festivals have been confirmed for JONATHAN:

In early October, Piotr J. Lewandowski’s film travels to the biggest and oldest annual festival in Denmark, MIX Copenhagen. Every year more than 12.000 visitors come to the festival, which takes place from 30th September to 9th October. JONATHAN will be screened on 2nd October with the director in attendance and will also compete for the Lili Award handed out during the closing night on 8th October by an international jury.

Shortly after JONATHAN screens in Belgium, at the Film Fest Gent. The 43rd festival edition (11th – 21st October) focuses on Nordic as well as Japanese cinema. JONATHAN is part of the Official Selection, screening on 12th, 15th and 19th October.


KOLLWEIN’S DAY OF TRUTH: Uranium Film Festival - written on 14.09.2016

On October 1st there will be another possibility to see KOLLWEIN’S DAY OF TRUTH (directed by Anna Justice, written by Johannes Betz) on the big screen. Back in May the film already screened at the International Uranium Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro, now it will be part of the festival’s Berlin edition. The festival has a focus on films about nuclear energy and the dangers of radioactivity and will take place from September 28th to October 2nd.

JONATHAN: Raindance Festival / Chicago & Atlanta - written on 01.09.2016

JONATHAN by Piotr J. Lewandowski continues to travel the world: we already announced festivals in Oslo, Ahrenshoop, Austin, Perth and Los Angeles, now we are happy to add the film’s UK premiere, at Raindance Film Festival in London.

With a selection of 100 feature films, Raindance is the largest and most important independent film festival in the UK. It takes place from September 21 to October 02, JONATHAN will be screened in the “Discovery” section.

Following its UK premiere, JONATHAN will again travel to two US-festivals:

The 34th edition of Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival takes place between September 22 and September 29. Approximately 75-100 films will be shown in different categories, JONATHAN will compete for “Best Narrative Feature”.

Right after Chicago, JONATHAN will travel to Atlanta’s Out on Film Festival, which was established 29 years ago. Running from September 29 to October 06, the festival also presents around 100 films, competing for various awards.
