The Company

Kordes & Kordes Film was founded in Berlin in 2003 and is headed by sisters Meike and Alexandra Kordes. Within a short period of time, the company made a name for itself in the arthouse world far beyond Germany.
In 2007, the producers were honored with the VGF Best Newcomer Producers Prize for their multiple awarded winner of the German Film Award, FOUR MINUTES.

Ever since, Kordes & Kordes Film successfully produces feature films and documentaries for cinema and television, and the company’s productions have yet been awarded with more than 150 national and international awards.

JONATHAN, the debut by Piotr J. Lewandowski, celebrated its world premiere in the Panorama section at last years Berlin International Film Festival.

A number of other features and documentaries for cinema and television is currently in development. It remains the goal of Kordes & Kordes Film to continue producing high-quality films in close cooperation with exceptional directors and writers.

Kordes & Kordes Film already co-produced with partners in Austria, Estonia, France, Poland and Switzerland.

Alexandra Kordes and Meike Kordes are members of the German Film Academy as well as the European Film Academy. Since 2013, Meike Kordes is a board member in the Producers Alliance in the section Cinema and a member of the Board Committee. In addition, she acts as commissioner in the allocation committee of FFA and is a member of the Berliner Volksbank’s advisory board of entrepreneurs.
Alexandra Kordes works as a lecturer at the Munich script workshop since 2009.

Since 2005, Kordes & Kordes Film is also represented with offices in the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
